I used 2 slightly watered down coats of chalk paint then 2 coats of polycrylic.

But i got to lowe s i had a gift card from christmas and for some bizarre reason i bought black paint. I did not use primer you don t have to with chalk paint. Which is why the black chaulk chalk paint is the best color you could ever use on kitchen cabinets fireplace and doors any color chalk paint not just black looks great and professional. I plan on using chalk paint to do the cabinets.

The chalk paint i used on this was called graphite by annie sloan and is actually a dark gray. So i guess i m painting the vanities black.
